The temptations of the world can be very deceiving. The world offers you money, fame, power, and everything that the devil wants you to grab a hold of. It can be easy to take the offer and to turn away from Jesus. However, Jesus wants you to grab ahold of Him. He wants you to tithe to His kingdom, to give Him the power and the glory. Today, Pastor Michael is going to use Abram as an example of how to turn away from the temptations of the enemy. Abram was offered riches and gold, but instead chose God.

Today, Pastor Michael is going to use Abram as a reminder of how you can turn back to loving God. Abram turned his back towards God. He went to Egypt, and he sinned against God. He even gave away his own wife! But God forgave him, and what did Abram do? He went back to worshipping God. You may feel like you aren’t close to God, or your relationship with God isn’t the same as it used to be. But you can restore that relationship with him! Remember a time that you were close to God and go back to that time.

Have you ever sinned and felt like you got away with it? You felt like there wasn’t any consequence to your mistake, so you continue to sin. There isn’t always an obvious consequence. Today, Pastor Michael will use Abram as an example of why it is not worth it to run away from God. It seemed that Abram got away with giving up his wife… at the moment. However, he ends up facing the consequences later in his life. It is a good reminder that sin can cause harm not only to you but can to ruin the lives of people you love.

Similar to being baptized, when he went under the water, his selfishness was drowned away and he emerged different.
