Living Sacrifice Part 4

As Pastor Michael continues his teaching series through the book of Genesis, he'll be reminding you of the precious and perfect sacrifice Jesus made for you on the cross. Abraham was instructed on how to build an altar, where to build it, and what to sacrifice in order for his sins to be covered. You have Jesus that has made a once and for all sacrifice for your past, present, and future sins! The blood of Jesus is sufficient to forgive sins, not simply cover them for a time like the animal sacrifices in the Old Testament.

Living Sacrifice Part 3

Someone who's living their life as a living sacrifice doesn't allow anything to hold them back or distract them from their walk with the Lord. Today, Pastor Michael will be challenging you to wholeheartedly run the race that is set before you and to rid yourself of anything that's slowing you down. When you realize your life is no longer your own, and that you've sacrificed your own wants and desires, that's when you start living a really satisfying life. The boundaries God has set for you are to help you, not hurt you.

Living Sacrifice Part 2

When you take inventory of your life, would you say you living as a pilgrim and sojourner just passing through, or have you become an Earth dweller? As Pastor Michael continues his teaching series through the book of Genesis, he'll be encouraging you to focus on the fact that your citizenship is in Heaven and not on this Earth. Don't allow the affairs and cares of this life to make you so entangled that you forget your mission here on Earth. You're here for a reason, and it's to preach the Gospel!

Living Sacrifice Part 1

To sacrifice something means to allow something to be put to death that's meaningful and important. Today, Pastor Michael will be explaining how God has called you to be a living sacrifice, not a dead sacrifice. To be a living sacrifice means to put to death your flesh, but to be alive in Jesus. When you're being a living sacrifice, it means you living your life to the fullest in Jesus and being obedient to His Word. When you put to death your flesh nature, that's when you're truly living a fulfilled life.

Cross Eyed Part 2

As Pastor Michael continues his teaching series through the book of Genesis, he'll be explaining how this story of Abraham and Isaac points to salvation in Jesus the Messiah. The wording in the text today is very specific and important, it says that God will provide Himself a lamb. Abraham knew that God would provide a sacrifice and that somehow his son Isaac would be spared. This story points to Jesus as being the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world!

Cross Eyed Part 1

Today, Pastor Michael will be explaining the many prophetic similarities between Isaac and Jesus. Both were born miraculously, and both were given names specifically by God Himself. When God told Abraham to sacrifice his son, He referred to Isaac as his only son who he loves. Jesus of course is the only Son of God who died to take the sins of the world. All throughout the Old Testament, you can see Jesus within the pages. The Old Testament is a shadow pointing to the reality of Jesus.

Test Prep Part 2

As Pastor Michael continues his teaching series through the book of Genesis, he'll be explaining how faith, hope, and love are all mentioned here in this text. This is the first time love is mentioned in the Bible, and it's when God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his only son who he loved. Abraham had faith and showed hope while at the same time obeying God in bringing his only son to be sacrificed. This is a picture of God the Father sacrificing his one and only Son whom He loved as well!

Test Prep Part 1

Imagine being in Abraham's shoes for a second when God commands him to sacrifice his only son. This is the son God promised Abraham and the son that was miraculously conceived, and now God is telling Abraham to sacrifice him! Today, Pastor Michael will explain how Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son in the faith, knowing that God would somehow come through. Whether God was going to provide a different sacrifice or raise his son from the dead, Abraham had faith God was good.

The Lyin’ Sleeps Tonight Part 2

As Christians, when we’re in the midst of difficult times, one of the last things we remember to do is simply worship God. We focus on fixing the problems instead of showing God our reverence through worship. In today’s message, Pastor Michael wants you to know that when the storms of life are hitting you hard, you will never find more peace in your life than when you stop and worship. Strip away the anxiety and stress from your life by simply quieting your soul and connecting to Him through worship.

The Lyin’ Sleeps Tonight Part 1

As Christians, when we grow closer and closer to God, it can be far too easy to become prideful. Maybe we start to look down on others who don’t Him, or maybe we even devalue fellow believers who aren’t as far along in their faith. Today, Pastor Michael wants you to know that pride is the complete opposite of who God is. The only way to truly spiritually mature in your faith is to strive for humility day in and day out. The very essence of who God is starts with humility. Become more like Him through your humbleness.
