“Keep Your Coins, I Want Change” Part 1

In our culture, there are many different assumptions that non-Christians make as to what being part of a church looks like. Often times these assumptions are negative and many of us choose to do nothing. Today, Pastor Michael reminds us that as Christians, we need to do more than just believe in Jesus if we truly want to be His church. If we stand firm in Jesus and who we know Him to be, He will never fail you, He will work everything for your good, and He will never abandon you.

I can NOT even imagine sitting in a dark, cold cell being glad that I am there. How about you? Yet this is where we find Paul. If you know his story, he gave up absolutely everything comfortable in his life to follow Jesus. He learned what mattered the most. And he didn't trade it in when his circumstances were rough. Pastor Michael encourages you today, as Jesus believers, to continue. Just keep taking small, faith-believing steps toward Him. You'll get there! Right into the arms of THEE person who can save you from your sins.

Philippians 3 Part 1

I can't move without disturbing this guy chained next to me, and no, he's not my friend. BUT he IS this lost soul that needs the love of Jesus. He needs the same person that I have found to be my EVERYTHING. I rejoice that I have opportunity to share Jesus with this Roman soldier! This could very well have been the thoughts of the Paul. There are three things we learn from this story as Pastor Michael tells us today. The most important? NOT CHANGING the simple message of Jesus...Savior from ourselves.

As Christians, often times we forget how much Jesus gave up on the cross to save us from our sins. When we become followers of Jesus, we need to be able to give up what He gave up for us. Not our will be done, but His will be done. Today, Pastor Michael wants you to know that if you aren’t letting Jesus take the reins for our life, you aren’t taking the attitude of Christ. As followers of Jesus we need to take on this mindset and be willing to give all of ourselves to Him.

Today, Pastor Michael wants you to know that as Christians we need to look upon the people around us with love. Everyone in this is world is suffering in some way and we need to swallow our pride and talk to people we look down upon to live how Jesus wants us live. Don’t let bitterness consume you, follow Jesus and be free.

Philippians 1 Part 3

Today on Burning Hearts, Pastor Michael reviews Paul’s writing to the Philippians. The Apostle Paul explains that we are all experiencing the same agony. Not that we will all experience the exact same struggles, but we will feel the same sadness as long as we are living earthly lives. But what if you could view the agony as a blessing? Instead of letting it tear you down, becoming bitter and resentful; you could view it as a way to show your unbreakable allegiance to the Lord?

Philippians 1 Part 2

In today’s message, Pastor Michael explains how God uses the suffering and struggles in our lives to bring him glory. However, it’s not the actual pain and difficulty that brings God glory. It’s actually the believers who don’t let it shake their faith that brings glory to God. We’re not called to suffer simply for the sake of suffering. Instead, we are instructed to keep faith in God during our struggles, and that we can and should take joy in the fact that we are struggling for God!
