But, as Pastor Michael will point out in today’s message, God is our crutch and so much more. We should be leaning on Him with all of ourselves, not just one part. We need Him to exist. Being a Christ-follower requires humbly accepting your desperate need for God’s intervention in your life. Arrogance and independence will only result in your downfall.

If you read through the Old Testament, especially the book of Leviticus, you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed with all the rules. There are some downright strange ones. As Pastor Michael will explain in today’s message, while God inspired the rules we find in Scripture, and there were good reasons for them, He knew we would need things simplified. How are we supposed to respond to the subtle but persistent undertones of wickedness in our culture – from popular movies, tv shows and books, to one of our most celebrated holidays, evil is downplayed at best and at worst, glorified and normalized with media designed for children. Some would argue, “it's just fun! It’s not serious...” But how does that fit with what the Bible teaches us? God isn’t dependent on our praise or gratitude. We’re the ones that need it. As Pastor Michael will explain in today’s message, when you live a thankless life, you’ll gravitate towards complaining and bitterness. When you don’t get what you think you deserve, or you see others getting things you don’t think they deserve, you’ll quickly spiral into anger and feeling sorry for yourself. If you shift your perspective to gratitude for all the good that God’s given you, you’ll find endless joy and peace in Him.

Wrecked by LOVE Part 2
Monday Jun 20, 2022
Monday Jun 20, 2022
In today’s message, Pastor Michael will explore the ways that Christ crashed into our world. We’re very familiar with the Christmas story – Jesus being born in a manger to Mary and Joseph - with little haloes around their head – you can picture the nativity, right? It’s so sanitized in our view, but in reality, it was not a warm, clean event. He was born in a functioning barn, in a country occupied by a hostile, foreign nation. He came to a broken world, in a broken way, to bring His redemption to men’s hearts.

Most of us probably know who Princess Diana is and if you’ve seen her on television, chances are you’ve seen someone bend down and kiss her ring. As Christians, we know that Jesus is king, but do we really grasp the full meaning of this? Today, Pastor Michael wants to remind us that we need to treat Jesus with the same reverence as princesses and kings on earth. He is sovereign over-all. We need to go beyond just knowing that we are saved, bend down, and kiss His ring.

We are constantly bombarded with opinions about new ways of living and are told what we need to do in order to live the life we want to live. As Christians, it’s no different and usually is much more difficult. Today, Pastor Michael wants to remind us that if our faith is in Jesus, we need to be intentional about our time with Him. The moment we start to let go of the throttle on our faith, we begin to lose sight of him and start to let the world consume us. Don’t fall prey to the world’s opinions and stand firm.

In our walk with Jesus it’s easy to slip into mediocrity and ignore those who challenge us. Instead of showing them His love and kindness, we choose to close our ears and our hearts. Today, Pastor Michael wants you to know that as Christians, we need to show love to those who oppose us and make a bigger impact for His kingdom. We can’t let those who challenge us control the narrative. God wants us to show kindness, be humble, and graciously listen to these people—that they may find Him.
