Welcome to the Burning Hearts Podcast! Our heart is to glorify Jesus Christ and draw people closer to Him through explaining Scriptures in a relevant and easy-to-understand way. Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. Previously, Pastor Michael spoke about needing the context to properly understand the Bible. Today, he speaks about knowing your sources. The Bible is a very complex book that relies on translations and study for us to understand properly. Because of that; we need to be courteous and very aware of WHO exactly we’re listening to. Some of the smartest Biblical scholars have gotten things wrong before; so, we can’t simply take everything we hear as is! We always need to confirm the things we hear!
