Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. Have you ever tried to do those 3-D hidden pictures? The ones where you stare at an image and let your eyes unfocus and then another image will pop out? It’s cool how there’s something else hidden in plain sight if you take the time to look. And that’s what you’ll see in today’s passage. On the surface it’s just a boring genealogy, a list of names you don’t really care about. But, as Pastor Michael shares, hidden in the names is a message for you and me all about Jesus and the rest and comfort He came to give us.
