Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. As Pastor Michael continues his teaching series through the book of Genesis, he'll be explaining how faith, hope, and love are all mentioned here in this text. This is the first time love is mentioned in the Bible, and it's when God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his only son who he loved. Abraham had faith and showed hope while at the same time obeying God in bringing his only son to be sacrificed. This is a picture of God the Father sacrificing his one and only Son whom He loved as well!
