Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. God is a loving, wise Shepherd and we are very much like foolish sheep. We tend to wander off and get ourselves into trouble. As Pastor Michael will illustrate in today’s message, straying off always has consequences. At the very least we miss out on the abundance of joy and peace God has for us, but in many cases we experience pain and suffering that could’ve been avoided. Instead of blaming God or others, take responsibility and enjoy the welcoming embrace of your Shepherd as He carries you back to the fold.
