Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. Why did God send His son down? In today’s edition of Burning Hearts, Pastor Michael talks about why God sacrificed His only son. God is Holy and Perfect. There is no sin in Him. We, on the other hand, are born with a sinful nature. This separated us from God. But He loves us so much, that He sent His son down. Jesus took on the sin of the world and became the ultimate sacrifice. He took our place. Because of His selfless act of love, we now can have a relationship with Christ and lean on Him.
