Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. In today’s message and the next, Pastor Michael goes through his explanation of Noah and the Ark. His two themes are ‘grabbing a bull by the horns and ‘grabbing the dove every day.’
He uses these as metaphors for our need to work with God in our lives every day. Grabbing the bull means learning and accepting with the truth of our sinful and fallen nature head-on, rather than trying to skip past it, or hide it from ourselves.
And we’ll get what “grabbing the dove” means next time!
