Welcome to the Burning Hearts Podcast! Our heart is to glorify Jesus Christ and draw people closer to Him through explaining Scriptures in a relevant and easy-to-understand way. Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. Humans often tend to show favor and honor to the powerful, important, pretty people and ignore or mistreat the poor, the unlovely, the helpless. But, as Pastor Michael teaches today, Jesus was the opposite. He loved those who society brushed aside. He served those who were hated and poorly treated. He sacrificed for those who were needy and helpless. As you encounter people in the world around you, how do you treat them? Do you look at them with eyes of love Jesus would have for them?
