Welcome to the Burning Hearts Podcast! Our heart is to glorify Jesus Christ and draw people closer to Him through explaining Scriptures in a relevant and easy-to-understand way. Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. While we sometimes have to push ourselves to perform specific tasks out of a sense of duty, you can’t operate like that all the time. If you find that your ministry feels like an obligation and is stealing your joy, then your heart is in the wrong place. It’s not that the activity is wrong – it could be precisely what God wants you to do – but if your heart is in it for the wrong reasons, you’ll be miserable. Today, Pastor Michael will challenge us to ensure our hearts are in our calling and rely on Christ for strength.
