Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. In some church cultures, there seems to be an unspoken rule that the church should always be serious. The more somber you are, the more spiritual. Being able to spend time in reflection and solemn reverence is an integral part of a healthy Christian life, but it’s only a part. It’s not healthy if that’s all your Christian journey looks like. As Pastor Michael will remind us in today’s message, joy is a central character trait that the Holy Spirit wants to bring to the hearts of His followers.
