Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. As Pastor Michael continues his teaching series through the book of Genesis, he'll be explaining how this story of Abraham and Isaac points to salvation in Jesus the Messiah. The wording in the text today is very specific and important, it says that God will provide Himself a lamb. Abraham knew that God would provide a sacrifice and that somehow his son Isaac would be spared. This story points to Jesus as being the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world!
