Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. When Jesus called the disciples to follow Him, He didn’t say, “get your stuff together, work out all of your mental and spiritual issues, and show me you can follow the rules – and then come follow me.” No, His calling was extremely simple. He started with “Come, follow me… I’ll make you fishers of men.” As Pastor Michael will explain in today’s message, Jesus will do the leading and He makes you a fisher of men. It’s His work in your heart and life, not your work and effort – you’re simply called to follow.
