Welcome to the Burning Hearts Podcast! Our heart is to glorify Jesus Christ and draw people closer to Him through explaining Scriptures in a relevant and easy-to-understand way. Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. Sometimes, it can be easy to forget that it’s not our good deeds or thoughts that save us from Hell. In today’s message, Pastor Michael reminds us that we cannot redeem ourselves. We need a redeemer. And that redeemer is Jesus. Now, that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t do good works, or that they’re worthless. Our good works need to be a reflection of our savior; not an effort to make ourselves seem worth saving. That’s because we aren’t worth saving. But God loved us too much to leave us beyond saving.
