Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. When you’ve been hurt by someone, especially when they purposefully caused you harm, forgiveness can be really hard. It’s your right to be angry. They deserve to suffer in proportion to the suffering they caused you. That may be, but God calls you to something better. He calls you to forgiveness and restoration. Jesus demonstrated the humility you’ll need when He died on the cross, and as Pastor Michael will remind us in today’s message, that sacrificial love should characterize our lives as believers.
