Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. Scripture warns that the sins of the fathers are passed down to the next generation. Unsurprisingly, science has been able to find evidence of this. If your parents struggled with a specific sin, you’re likely predisposed to it as well. This shouldn’t be an excuse, but a warning sign. As Pastor Michael will remind us in today’s message, Christ has offered redemption from that cycle of sin. You may deal with that temptation your entire life, but you can be free from its oppression.
