Our name comes from two Scriptures: Luke 24:32 - They said to each other, ”Weren‘t our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining Scriptures to us.” Jeremiah 20:9 - Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. Today Pastor Michael will remind us of the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They were thrown into a fiery furnace when they refused to bow down before King Nebuchadnezzar. In the midst of that intense fire – so intense that it killed the soldiers that threw them in - they were kept safe by a mysterious 4th man that appeared. Many believe that man was Jesus. Even when Nebuchadnezzar called them out, they didn’t want to come out. They preferred to stay in the fire with their Savior.
